A New Mission

As Rookie’s condition stabilized, his family began to look beyond their own experience, realizing that their journey could inspire and help others. The long, painful process had opened their eyes to the gaps in pediatric cancer treatment – the lengthy treatment times, the side effects, and the toll it takes on families. This realization sparked the creation of the Rookie of the Year Foundation. The family’s mission was clear: to reduce treatment times, lessen the burden on children, and ensure that every child has the chance to celebrate more birthdays. Rookie’s journey had come full circle, transforming from a story of struggle to one of hope and advocacy.
